The Shopmobility Basingstoke Team
Shopmobility Basingstoke is run by two permanent staff and a dedicated team of volunteers who regularly help out at least one morning or afternoon each day of the week, Monday to Sunday.
Anne Blackmore (Manager)
Anne is the manager of Shopmobility Basingstoke and has been since before it opened on 1st December 1997, prior to the opening she worked from the council offices.
"My previous jobs have always been customer focussed roles" says Anne who has lived in Basingstoke for over ten years". "Living so close to Shopmobility I am more aware of local news and issues, including access: this helps me to relate to the problems encountered by Shopmobility customers"
Anne is married with a young daughter and, representing Shopmobility Basingstoke, sits on the Basingstoke and Deane Disability Forum and its sub group the Access Group to improve access and information within the borough for people with disabilities.
Lin Chandler (Assistant Manager)
Lin is Anne's right hand and was born and bred in Basingstoke, she is married with two grown up children and she worked at a local college before joining Shopmobility.
"I was appointed Assistant Manager in October 2002 after significant growth in the business and with the new Festival Place about to open" says Lin, "I applied for the position of assistant manager after getting to know the work of Shopmobility when both my father and grandmother used and benefitted from the service"
