If you normally hire a Wheelchair to push a person around Town you may be interested to try one of our new additions to the Fleet. This is a standard Wheelchair, but fitted with a motor mover underneath. By operating the motor from the handlebars there is no need to push – especially helpful when negotiating any gradients. Traction is available in both forward and reverse.
The hire charge is exactly the same as a standard wheelchair (£8.00 per day), so why not save on pushing, and move around easier by the ‘chair being powered.
Next time you are in ask about then, and have a trial run – even if its only around our Carpark.
Unfortunately due to the popularity of this Shop we were unable to secure a booking for the 2026 season.
We do hope though that we will be able to secure a date for 2027
During the 2025 fortnight we raised the fantastic sum of £1,580.66. All which will go the support the equipment we provide for our users here at the Basingstoke Centre.
We will again be offering a Christmas Gift Wrapping service in the Malls (outside the old Wilko Shop). Bring your gifts along and we will wrap them in quality paper and tag. Whilst we make no charge for this service, we do suggest a minimum donation of £2.00 per package. All proceeds will be put towards the running of our Scooter service in Church Square.
Special rates are available for hires of a longer period
We are pleased to advise we are able to accept Card Payments for all hires. However the £100.00 Deposit on hires where the vehicle is taken away overnight or away ‘for the day’ can be held on a Card payment, and refunded upon return of the hire in good condition.
Travel Scooters – suitable for putting in the boot of the Car, on a Coach, or on the Train and going out for the day are very popular. During the Summer Season they do get booked up early so to avoid disappointment please enquire as soon as you know any dates. These small robust scooters are also suitable for taking on Cruises, and some flights within Europe, so maybe a wonderful holiday somewhere can be made easier with our Travel Scooters – just ask for more details.
Any Scooter taken away from the Centre (i.e. in the boot of a Car) will require a £100.00 refundable deposit.
We were there in 2025, and the weather was superb at this successful Show on Saturday 6th September 2025, and we do hope to be there for 2026. Scooters will be available for hire. As always we do have a limited number available, so better to pre-book to be assured of a suitable Scooter to meet with your needs. Pre-booking can be made by calling our Basingstoke Centre on 01256 476 066 during normal office hours.

Unfortunately we have not been able to have our Trundles for a while now, However we hope to have a few during the Summer Months.
We had four outings.
We will be calling to ‘Milestones Museum’ for Tea/Coffee and Cake after a run through the older parts of Brookvale to view some not often seen parts of the Town (Weather permitting of course)
We will be going on ‘Parks & Gardens’ Tour around Town before returning back to Shopmo’ for Tea/Coffee and Cake.
Many people think all our customers do in town is shop. They forget there are an abundance of other reasons for coming into town e.g. bank, dentist, doctor, optical, legal services, meeting a friend, gym, cinema.
Plus, customers of Shopmobility Basingstoke get the opportunity to go on a ‘Trundle’. This is an organised trip from the office, lead by staff/volunteers which takes the customer outside of the shopping area and off to places they wouldn’t normally get to and sometimes don’t even know exist.
With weather permitting we will be organising up to 4 Trundles during 2025 – watch this space!
